Volunteers to Clean Up Local Schools Today
PICO RIVERA — Armed with paintbrushes, brooms and trowels, residents and community leaders will help mark the city’s first Community Pride Day by fixing up three local schools today.
The city is inviting volunteers to join the cleanup effort by meeting at 8 a.m. at Rivera Park. Buses will take groups to three schools: Pio Pico Elementary School, Montebello Gardens Elementary School and Burke Middle School.
The volunteers will spend about five hours painting murals, cleaning the campus grounds and planting flowers.
