In another Division VII game:
Harvard-Westlake 16, Arroyo 7--Behind the running of George Witter and three defensive stops, the Wolverines (8-3) prevailed at Arroyo without completing a pass.
The defense opened the scoring when Tom Larkin and Alex Holmes tackled Jason Kwan for a safety with 6:17 remaining in the first quarter.
Witter rushed for 153 yards in 27 carries, including a 42-yard score late in the first quarter to give Harvard-Westlake a 9-0 lead.
The Wolverines, after leading, 16-7, recovered a Knight fumble by Manuel Torres at the Harvard-Westlake five-yard line late in the third quarter.
Arroyo (8-3) had two drives stall at the Wolverines’ 15-yard line. Ricky Toland missed field goals of 32 and 33 yards.
Robert Van Norden scored Harvard-Westlake’s other touchdown on a 73-yard run with 8:20 remaining in the second quarter to give the Wolverines a 16-0 lead.
Matt Felder did not complete any of his five passes for Harvard-Westlake, all in the first half.
