L.A.’s Wild Colonials are recording a new EP while also looking for a new record deal after exiting from Geffen Records. . . . Tryptich, a band featuring violinist Lili Haydn, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, Wild Colonials pianist Paul Cantelon and classical cellist Martin Tillman, will perform a new score it composed for the classic Russian silent film “Battleship Potemkin” Dec. 14 at the Troubadour, honoring the 100th anniversary of the birth of director Sergei Eisenstein.
