In the other Division II semifinal:
Marina 10, Laguna Beach 7-- Mike Alvino had three goals and David Wagner had two goals and two steals to lead second-seeded Marina past third-seeded Laguna Beach.
Laguna Beach’s Kirk Ziegler, who led the Artists with three goals, opened the third quarter with a goal to widen the lead to 4-2. But Marina got back on track with a four-goal, third and fourth quarter.
Laguna Beach finishes 15-13.
In Division I water polo:
North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake 7, Foothill 4--Foothill scored three goals in the second quarter, including Pat Logan’s with 47 seconds left to tie the score, 3-3, but Bill Strickland’s goal late in the third quarter gave Harvard-Westlake the lead for good, 5-4, at Pepperdine.
Logan and Brett Reynolds scored two goals each for the Knights (18-10).
In Division VI water polo:
Rowland Heights Rowland 10, Western 1--Senior goalkeeper Ronny Cunningham stopped 14 shots for Western (22-5) in the semifinal game and finished the season with the school record for career saves.
Rowland (29-1) took a 6-1 halftime lead, then outscored Western, 4-0, in the second half at Citrus College.
