With a six-iron approach to within 18 inches of the third sudden-death playoff hole, Cerritos Gahr High sophomore Young Pak won the Southern Section girls’ individual golf championship at Mission Lakes Country Club in Desert Hot Springs. Pak shot a 70, two under par, on the 5,390-yard course, to finish in a playoff with Alemany’s Krystal Shearer and Long Beach Millikan’s Vivan Phosomran.
