Dorsey 28, Franklin 20--After scoring the game’s first 12 points then building a 28-14 lead with 6:08 to play, Dorsey held off a late Panther comeback for the victory at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
Dorsey will play Taft, a 35-28 winner Wednesday over Venice, in a semifinal Dec. 4.
Franklin (10-2) had a fourth-and-13 at the Dorsey 37, but receiver Nelson Landaverde took a screen pass from Daniel Gonzalez and found three Don defenders waiting for him. Landaverde was thrown for a two-yard loss with 42 seconds left, and the Dons (9-2-1) ran out the clock.
Dorsey rushed 53 times for 352 yards.
Senior Major Cobb rushed for 202 yards in 14 carries and scored on runs of 57 and 31 yards for Dorsey. Tashiri Williams was the workhorse for the Dons, carrying 25 times for 102 yards and his team’s final touchdown.
Gonzalez completed 14 of 21 passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns.
