Mammoth 28, Flintridge Prep 14--The Rebels (7-4), who finished third in the Prep League, were outgained, 248 yards to 61, on the ground and had half as many possessions in a Division XIII quarterfinal loss at St. Francis High.
J.P. Blecksmith scored the first touchdown for Flintridge Prep on a 33-yard quarterback draw with 6:27 left in the first half. Blecksmith was sacked five times for minus 29-yards. He completed six of 10 passes for 79 yards.
Ross Fippinger returned a kickoff 94 yards for a touchdown to pull Flintridge Prep to within 21-14 with 2:37 left in the third quarter.
Cory Smart caught two of 11-yard touchdown passes in the second half for the Huskies (9-3), who avenged a 37-0 first-round defeat last season. The first score ended a 14-play, 69 yard drive that consumed nearly eight minutes and the second score concluded a five-minute, 52-yard march.
Mammoth had four rushers with 40 or more yards led by Tanner Hartman, who finished with 98 yards in 22 carries.
Maupin added 66 yards in 18 carries.
