* Story line: The 49er offense continues to hum along despite the protestations of Jerry Rice, who ranks among the NFC leaders with 61 receptions and 1,003 yards receiving but complained last week that he was being left out and wasn’t having fun. “We’ve got one ball and a lot of talent,” said quarterback Steve Young, whose other playmakers in the league’s No. 1 offense include J.J. Stokes, Terrell Owens and Garrison Hearst. “He [Rice] is one of the main guys. We’ve got to get the ball to him as much as possible. It’s my responsibility to do that and I’m going to do as much as I can possibly do with one ball. . . . I think we’ve been pretty productive.” Far more productive than the Giants, whose offense ranks 29th. They went three weeks--and two full games--without a touchdown before Gary Brown scored on a four-yard run late in the third quarter of last week’s 20-0 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. Kent Graham, making his first start at quarterback, led the Giants to 17 second-half points and completed 10 of 21 passes for 153 yards and a fourth-quarter touchdown. The defense, meanwhile, posted the Giants’ first shutout since 1990. It’s not likely to post another against the 49ers, whose 31 victories on Monday night are two shy of the leading amount of the Oakland Raiders and Miami Dolphins.
