Taft 35, Cleveland 12--Marquis Brignac rushed for 166 yards in 24 carries and scored three touchdowns to lead Taft at home.
Steve Alvarado completed 14 of 24 passes for 175 yards and two touchdowns for Taft (3-1, 1-0). Alvarado was subbing for injured starter Brandon Hance.
Alvarado hooked up with K.C. Bounds on a 13-yard pass play to put Taft ahead, 7-0, in the first quarter. He connected with Damion Ramsey on an 11-yard pass play in the second quarter for a 21-0 advantage.
Brignac scored twice in the second quarter on 20-yard runs.
Running back James Bethea had 80 yards in 12 carries and scored once for Cleveland (1-3, 0-1).
