MOCA, Galleries to Host Cuban Events

“Cubans on Cuban Art,” a panel discussion in conjunction with three La Brea Avenue gallery exhibitions of contemporary art from Cuba, will be held Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Museum of Contemporary Art.
Photographers Jose Figueroa and Alberto Korda and the collaborative artists group Los Carpinteros will be on the panel with Adolfo Nodal, director of the Cultural Affairs Department of Los Angeles, and Tim Wride, a curator of photography at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Admission is free.
The exhibitions open today and run through Nov. 28.
Figueroa’s work can be seen at Jan Kesner Gallery, 164 N. La Brea Ave.; Korda’s photographs will be on view at Couturier Gallery, 166 N. La Brea Ave.; and Iturralde Gallery, 154 N. La Brea Ave., will present a show of Los Carpinteros’ work.
