Simi Valley 35, Agoura 10--Tim Bird completed 14 of 29 passes for 219 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for two more scores as the Pioneers (3-5, 2-2) won at Agoura.
Agoura (3-5, 0-4) scored first on a 27-yard field goal by Danny Brockdorf, but Simi Valley struck back quickly, scoring two touchdowns in 35 seconds.
Bird connected with Noah Happe on a 46-yard pass play for a touchdown. Then Happe recovered an onside kick and, two plays later, Bird dashed 28 yards for a score.
A one-yard touchdown run by Bird in the second quarter increased Simi Valley’s lead to 21-3. Agoura scored before halftime on a five-yard run by Justin Richter.
Simi Valley’s Ben Santiago intercepted a pass in the end zone on the last play of the third quarter and the Pioneers dominated the fourth period, scoring touchdowns on a one-yard reception by Michael Goldberg and a nine-yard run by John Proja. Proja rushed for 121 yards in 17 carries.
For Agoura, Garrett Lepisto caught 10 passes for 130 yards. Alex LaFazia completed 14 of 29 passes for 169 yards and Ryan Antzoulatos rushed for 107 yards in 21 carries.
