Recognizing the Rank-and-File Workers
The Orange County Tourism Council kicked off a program Wednesday to recognize tourism and hotel workers “who have taken that extra step to assure a visitor of a positive and memorable experience.”
The awards program will “honor the rank and file, the people that really do the face-to-face work with our visitors,” said council spokesman Bruce Brown.
Co-workers, local residents and visitors alike can nominate favorite cab drivers, bellhops, lifeguards or museum docents.
Awards will be bestowed on winners at a dinner planned for January at Tinseltown, the Hollywood-themed dinner theater being developed in Anaheim by former Disneyland president Jack Lindquist.
