Project to Get U.S. Grant

A Los Angeles project that tracks deteriorating housing and neighborhood conditions has received a $500,000 federal technology grant, the office of Vice President Al Gore is expected to announce today in Washington.
The Commerce Department grant goes to Neighborhood Knowledge Los Angeles, established in 1996 by the UCLA School of Public Policy and Social Research to track information about the conditions of neighborhoods.
