Long Beach Loses to St. Joseph’s

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Ramel Lloyd scored 25 points, but Long Beach State lost to St. Joseph’s of Pennsylvania, 79-76, Friday in the Carrier Classic. Lloyd played for Syracuse as a freshman three seasons ago.
N’aim Crenshaw scored 23 points, including the go-ahead basket with four minutes remaining, for St. Joseph’s.
In today’s championship game, St. Joseph’s (2-1) will play No. 14 Syracuse (5-0), a 74-60 winner over Richmond in the second game.
The 49ers (2-2) will play Richmond (2-2).
