Grant Coach Among Jewish Hall Inductees
Basketball Coach Howard Levine of Grant High will be among 14 inductees in the Southern California Jewish Sports Hall of Fame during ceremonies Jan. 22 at the Bernard Milken Jewish Community Campus in West Hills.
Other inductees include Cary Ross, track and field; Barry Asher, bowling; Dr. Dorian Paskowitch, surfing; Paris Blumenthal, karate; Phyllis Adler and Sammy Match, tennis; Mel Durslag and Mark Heisler, media; Harold “Lefty” Phillips, baseball, and pillars of achievement honorees Syd Kronenthal, Paul Ziffren, George Konheim and the Milken Families Foundation.
Awards will be presented posthumously to Phillips and Ziffren.
Selections were announced by Hall Chairman Joe Siegman and Director Eli Sherman after a vote by the organization’s board of directors.
