Another Visit With ‘Cinderella’; ‘Storm of the Century’ Due to Hit
Get the VCRs warmed up for the big movies and miniseries in store Sunday night.
ABC kicks off the evening with a repeat of the blockbuster 1997 “The Wonderful World of Disney” version of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical “Cinderella” at 7 p.m. Brandy, Whitney Houston and Whoopi Goldberg star.
Anne Bancroft, Lynn Whitfield and Gloria Reuben star in “Deep in My Heart,” a CBS drama tracing the three-decade journey of a black baby born to a white woman, Sunday at 9 p.m.
Craig T. Nelson, Richard Crenna and John Corbett star in NBC’s four-hour thriller “To Serve and Protect,” Sunday and Monday at 9 p.m. The drama chronicles a family of police officers and how a serial murder investigation threatens to tear them apart.
Timothy Daly, Debrah Farentino and Colm Feore star in “Stephen King’s The Storm of the Century,” Sunday at 9 p.m. on ABC. The six-hour thriller is King’s first original miniseries for TV and deals with what happens when an evil stranger and a ferocious snowstorm isolate a small Maine island community. The series continues Monday and concludes on Thursday.
Kicking off the weekend, Tom Verica headlines the UPN thriller “Lost in the Bermuda Triangle,” tonight at 8.
In celebration of Black History Month, Showtime will be airing the five finalist films of the 1999 Black Filmmaker Grant and last year’s winner, “Carmin’s Choice,” Sunday from 7 to 10 p.m.
Gail O’Grady, Rob Stewart, Corbin Bernsen and Marla Maples star in the Fox Family comedy “Two of Hearts,” Sunday at 7 p.m.
Alfre Woodard, Loretta Devine and CCH Pounder star in “Funny Valentine,” Sunday at 8 p.m. on STARZ. The drama focuses on the childhood friendship between cousins, which deepens over the years.
