New Mexico State 61, Cal State Fullerton 54--The Titans defended well against the outside shooting of the Aggies, who didn’t let that bother them in the Big West Conference opener for both teams before 1,009 at Titan Gym.
New Mexico State (8-5) patiently went to its inside game, and Charles Gosa and Aaron Brodt responded with 15 points apiece. They combined to make 12 of 15 shots from the field.
It was the first loss at home in six games for Fullerton (6-5). It was the sixth victory in the last eight games for the Aggies.
Jason Cunningham’s 12 points led the Titans.
