Irvine Sensors Posts Loss

Irvine Sensors Corp., Costa Mesa manufacturer of microcircuitry and high-density electronics, reported a net loss of $4.2 million, or 19 cents a share, for the fiscal year ended Sept. 27. That compares with a net loss of $14.9 million, or 73 cents a share, for the prior year, which included a plant closure cost of $5.9 million in the fourth quarter. Revenue fell 32% to $9.3 million from $13.7 million, reflecting the closure of the Vermont plant, which accounted for more than half of the company’s fiscal 1997 revenue.
