A bomb exploded at a railway station in northeastern India, killing 10 people and injuring 80 in an attack that police blamed on Pakistan. There was no claim of responsibility for the bombing. But Ramkrishna Roy, a police inspector, said Pakistan’s intelligence agency is suspected of involvement in the attack, which occurred just after noon at Jalpaiguri, 270 miles north of Calcutta. Authorities confirmed that two of the 10 dead were soldiers on their way to the Kashmir front, where Indian troops are fighting intruders. The bomb exploded between two platforms just as a train pulled into the station, police said. At least 42 of the injured were in critical condition, Press Trust of India reported.
