Disneyland Scraps Treehouse’s Tarzan Revamp
Disneyland has scuttled an elaborate make-over of the Swiss Family Treehouse, saying there’s no time to do it properly before the summer release of a Tarzan movie from Walt Disney Pictures.
Some sort of tie-in with the animated film will be featured at the Anaheim park, spokesman Tom Brocato said Wednesday. “We haven’t decided what.”
Employees who saw plans for the revamp of the 37-year-old treehouse described a robotic cheetah and gorillas, along with a second tree and a suspension bridge connecting the two. The project was too complicated to finish in time, Brocato said.
