The Public Works Department will install the sand berm protecting oceanfront property from storm flooding in the second week of November.
Parts of the boardwalk and Seal Walk were flooded last week due to a combination of high tides and heavy surf. No homes were damaged in the minor flood.
In 1997, oceanfront homes were swamped when El Nino-driven rains arrived at high tide with crests as high as 20 feet.
