El Segundo-based DirecTV Inc. has signed ABC TV personality Drew Carey as spokesman for a national advertising campaign that will begin airing Thursday. Two spots featuring the comedian will run for four weeks and promote the satellite television programming provider during the holiday season. Terms weren’t disclosed. In addition to television commercials, the campaign, reportedly valued at $30 million, will include print, radio and point-of-sale materials. Campbell-Ewald in Los Angeles is DirecTV’s advertising agency.
