Gonzalez, Buenrostro Score in Saddleback’s Victory
Saddleback scored two second-half goals and beat visiting Santiago, 2-0, Monday in the season-opener for both boys’ soccer teams.
Luis Gonzalez and Jorge Buenrostro scored for Saddleback.
Erick Gomez recorded six saves for Santiago.

Aliso Niguel 3, San Clemente 0--Nick Spangenberg scored for host Aliso Niguel in the 14th minute.
Jason Brody-Stewart and Matt Davis also scored goals for the Wolverines and Brockton Schermerhorn had two assists.
Fountain Valley 3, Costa Mesa 0--Cliff McKinley scored twice for Fountain Valley (1-0), which led, 1-0 at the half.
Orange Lutheran 6, Cerritos Whitney 0--Robert Farrington scored 20 minutes into the first half for the game-winning goal for Orange Lutheran.
Santa Ana 2, Century 0--Elton Monterrosa scored the first goal on a free kick from 40 yards out in the fifth minute for host Santa Ana (1-0).
Jose Lopez scored the Saints’ other goal on a penalty kick 60 minutes into the game.
Villa Park 2, Valencia 0--Lee Berry scored 11 minutes into the game on a penalty kick for visiting Villa Park (1-0). Joe Oftelie scored in the 35th minute.
Fullerton 3, Whittier La Serna 1--Noe Nava, Luis DeNiz and David Magana each scored for visiting Fullerton (1-0).
In nonleague girls’ soccer:
Troy 3, Ocean View 0--Teresa Rechnitzer scored two goals. Teammate Katie Ratican, who scored Troy’s other goal, assisted Rechnitzer on both of her scores.
Goaltender Kaylin Olivas had nine saves for Ocean View (0-1).
