The Times publishes a daily list of police incident reports provided by local law enforcement agencies. The Times prints items as soon as departments make them available. Because many departments release incident reports only weekly, not every community will be represented in each day’s Action Log. Authorities from the following cities released reports over the weekend:

BREA

* South Orange Avenue: Malicious mischief was reported in the 200 block at 1:46 p.m. Wednesday.

* Imperial Highway: A petty theft was reported in the 1000 block at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

* Brea Mall: A petty theft was reported in the 400 block at 5:06 p.m. Wednesday.

* North Vista Court: A petty theft was reported in the 800 block at 9 p.m. Wednesday.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY

* Brookhurst Street: Someone presented a counterfeit check to a teller at Bank of America in the 17400 block at 5:48 p.m. Tuesday and fled when the teller discovered that the check had been forged.

* Lawson River Avenue: Twenty pallets of cardboard, each weighing 300 pounds, were reported stolen from a storage yard at Split Tree, a business in the 10600 block at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday. The property loss totaled $20,000.

* Brookhurst Street: A thief ripped a purse off the shoulder of a woman while she was talking on a pay phone in the 16000 block at 10:15 p.m. Friday.

HUNTINGTON BEACH

* Sher Lane: Tools were stolen from inside a storage area at the Sheville Apartments in the 16100 block at 7:22 a.m. Tuesday.

* Edinger Avenue: As two thieves stole a car from the Huntington Apartments in the 8400 block at 12:32 a.m. Tuesday, a guard tried to stand in front of them to prevent them from leaving, but they drove into the guard, who rolled off the hood as they left the parking area.

PLACENTIA

* Chapman and Orangethorpe avenues: A bicycle was reported stolen at 9:36 a.m. Wednesday.

* South Kraemer Boulevard: An assault was reported in the 200 block at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

* East Palm Circle: A disturbance was reported in the 1000 block at 4:48 p.m. Wednesday.

* East Orangethorpe Avenue: A vehicle was reported as stolen in the 100 block at 8:25 p.m. Wednesday.

YORBA LINDA

* Eureka Avenue: A burglary was reported in the 4000 block at 1:38 a.m. Wednesday.

* Imperial Highway and Prospect Avenue: A burglary was reported and stolen property was recovered at 1:39 a.m. Wednesday.

* La Palma Avenue: A petty theft was reported in the 23000 block at 1:14 p.m. Wednesday.

Authorities from the following cities did not release incident reports over the weekend: Anaheim, Buena Park, Costa Mesa, Cypress, Dana Point, Fullerton, Garden Grove, Irvine, Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, La Habra, Lake Forest, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Mission Viejo, Newport Beach, Orange, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Santa Ana, Seal Beach, Stanton, Tustin, Villa Park and Westminster.
