Ventura 31, Santa Barbara 7--Tyler Ebell rebounded from a midseason slump to rush for 204 yards and two touchdowns in 26 carries at Ventura.

Ventura (8-0, 3-0) held a 10-7 halftime lead before scoring twice in the third quarter. Bryan Easterly recovered a fumble by Derryn Dixon to set up a 14-yard touchdown pass from Scott Ellis to Clark Goodman.

The Cougars scored on their next possession, driving 53 yards in nine plays with Ebell scoring on a 19-yard run.

Ellis was nine of 20 passing, with eight completions to Goodwin for 88 yards. Ellis rushed for 92 yards in nine carries and capped the scoring with an 18-yard run in the fourth quarter.
