An “underwear trust fund” has been established for expectant mothers who go into labor this Labor Day.
Kentucky-based Fruit of the Loom Inc. says it will provide free underwear, until age 21, for any child whose mom can prove she went into labor or gave birth today.
To apply, send a copy of the hospital admission record or baby’s birth certificate to Fruit of the Loom’s Labor of Love, 132 W. 21st St., 10th floor, New York, NY 10011.
The first 75 people who submit proper documentation will receive the underwear. Envelopes must be postmarked by Nov. 15. That’s a pretty long lead time, but new moms traditionally don’t have a lot of free time on their hands.
