Roman Genn, an artist from South Pasadena, is sketching the convention for The Times. His impression of this scene from Wednesday’s session:
“I found this guy among all the media yuppies in blue blazers, and I bonded right away. He’s so old guard and gruff, like they don’t make anymore. He said his name was Dick Tuck. Who’s Dick Tuck? I was amazed when people told me later that he’s an old-time Democratic prankster who used to drive Richard Nixon nuts.”
