Bobbi Fisher has received the “Energy Star Award” for her efforts to promote literacy through Chapman University’s Kathleen Muth Reading Center, an after-school reading program for at-risk children.
The award, sponsored by the Anaheim Angels and Southern California Edison, honors people who help make the community a better place, said university spokeswoman Ruth Wardwell. Fisher, a resident of Orange for 20 years, directs the reading center.
Fisher will accept the award at Edison Field on Sept. 8, when the Angels play the Baltimore Orioles.
