Can’t Miss
Following in the footsteps of such pros as Judy Holliday and Goldie Hawn, Victoria Jackson played the dizzy blond persona to perfection as a regular on “Saturday Night Live” (1986-92) and through starring roles in such films as “Casual Sex” (1988) and “Weird” Al Yankovic’s “UHF” (1989). But the 41-year-old actor started out doing stand-up comedy. Her big break came with a “Tonight Show” performance in which she recited poetry while standing on her head. She would go on to appear on the show more than 20 times. Jackson begins a five-night engagement tonight at the Irvine Improv, 71 Fortune Drive. 8:30 p.m. $15. Also Thursday, 8:30 p.m. $15; Friday, 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. $17; Saturday, 7, 9 and 11 p.m. $17; Sunday, 7 p.m. $15. (949) 854-5455.
