Two Nonprofits Get Disney Treat
Two nonprofit organizations that promote the well-being of children will benefit from sneak previews of Walt Disney Co.’s California Adventure and Downtown Disney attractions in Anaheim.
On Jan. 11, the Santa Monica-based Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation will benefit from the premiere peek at Downtown Disney, a dining and entertainment complex.
Children’s Hospital of Orange County will be the beneficiary of the Jan. 15 preview of California Adventure, the 55-acre centerpiece of the Disneyland Resort’s $1.4-billion expansion.
Disney Chairman Michael Eisner will join actor Sylvester Stallone in hosting a private reception at Downtown Disney for donors who give $25,000 or more to the Glaser foundation.
General admission to the benefit preview of Downtown Disney is $350. Guests will sample fare cooked up in venues that include the House of Blues and Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen.
Supporters of CHOC in Orange will pay $50 each to experience the new rides at California Adventure before it opens to the public Feb. 8.
