Gifts Needed for Kids With Disabilities
A program that serves children with disabilities is seeking holiday donations.
The Easter Seals’ Early Intervention Program, which assists area families of infants and toddlers with disabilities or who are at risk of developmental delay, needs developmental toys and any other items for an annual holiday celebration to be held later this month.
Such manufacturers as Playskool, Sesame Street, the Right Start and Lakeshore produce toys geared toward such children, said Easter Seals spokeswoman Jennifer Frost.
Donations may be dropped off before Dec. 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the organization’s Van Nuys office at 16946 Sherman Way, Suite 100.
The nonprofit Easter Seals organization, established in 1919, offers community programs to promote independence for people with disabilities.
“This is the season of giving,” said spokeswoman Jennifer Frost. “This will be an opportunity for the community to step up and help Easter Seals make a difference for kids with disabilities.”
