The Buena High School marching band placed second at the Western Band Assn. championships last weekend in Stockton.
The band also won first-place awards for music performance and drum line.
The band competed against more than 20 high schools in preliminary competition at the Lodi Grape Bowl and was one of two schools to advance to the final competition at University of the Pacific in Stockton.
The band performed its 2000 field show, “Millennium Celebration,” featuring music from Walt Disney World’s extravaganza of the same name.
Riverbank High School in Riverbank, north of Modesto, won first place in the statewide competition.
The Western Band Assn. is a field show competition circuit involving schools from California, Arizona, Nevada and Oregon.
