Mayor Accused of Sexual Harassment
A former aide to Milwaukee Mayor John Norquist filed a sexual harassment complaint with the state, denying that their sexual relationship was consensual, her lawyer said. Attorney Victor Arellano read a statement from Marilyn Figueroa, who claims that relentless pursuit by “a powerful individual over me” created an “environment of submission” that “eventually led to a health-related breakdown.” Figueroa, 41, left her $55,000-a-year job as a key aide to Norquist in January. Norquist, 51, says the two had an extramarital affair but denies harassing her. His lawyer, Anne Shindell, said she has a note signed by Arellano demanding $275,000 for Figueroa to keep quiet. Arellano denied that.
