Brittany Reitz
Corona del Mar, Tennis
Third-seeded, Reitz won the Southern Section individual singles championship Friday at the Claremont Club, beating Woodbridge’s Elizabeth Exon, 6-1, 6-2, in the semifinals and top-seeded Susanna Lingman, also of Woodbridge, 6-3, 6-1, in the final. Reitz, who sat out the first six weeks of the season after transferring from St. Margaret’s, became the first county player to win the singles title since Anne Mall of Dana Hills in 1990.

Woodbridge, Basketball
Scored 19 points in the championship of the Woodbridge tournament, as the No. 6 Warriors defeated No. 10 Edison.
* Kristen Mann
Foothill, Basketball
Had 33 points, nine rebounds and six steals in Foothill’s victory over Sonora for the Century tournament title.
Chris Manderino
Newport Harbor, Football
Manderino, a senior, carried the ball 30 times for 272 yards and two touchdowns as fourth-seeded Newport Harbor upset top-seeded La Mirada, 35-16, in a Southern Section Division VI semifinal. It was the first loss of the season for the Matadores, who held the No. 1 ranking all season. Manderino’s touchdowns of four and five yards gave the Sailors a 14-9 first-quarter lead. He has carried 325 times for 2,062 yards this year.

Villa Park, Wrestling
Won the 125-pound title at the 42-team El Dorado tournament and was named the meet’s champion of champions.
* Marcus Espinosa
Katella, Basketball
Scored 81 points in four games as the Knights upset No. 10 Kennedy for the title of the Coyote Classic.
