Isaac Salazar, a retired school district maintenance worker, died Tuesday in Ventura after a lengthy illness. He was 63.
He was born May 27, 1937, in Saticoy and was a lifelong county resident.
For more than 33 years, he worked as a maintenance man for the Ventura Unified School District where he was known as “Ike” to his friends and co-workers.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Ventura. He also enjoyed playing golf.
He is survived by his wife, Cruz, of Ventura; daughters Lena Salazar and Leah Salazar-Brown, both of Ventura; brothers David of Oxnard and Peter of Morelia, Mexico; sister Mary Barretto of Ventura; and two grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 2 to 5 p.m. today at the Joseph Reardon Funeral Home in Ventura, which is handling the arrangements.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Friday at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park in Ventura with Father Larry Dowdel of Our Lady of the Assumption Church officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Our Lady of the Assumption Church’s food basket program.
