* CARSON (10-3) vs. WILMINGTON BANNING (7-6), Friday at the Coliseum, 8 p.m.--The City Section championship game marks the 50th meeting between the longtime rivals. Carson leads the series, 28-21. Both have won 10 major division titles.

* LONG BEACH POLY (13-0) vs. LOYOLA (12-1), Saturday at Edison Field, 7:30 p.m.--Long Beach Poly, making its fourth consecutive appearance in the Southern Section Division I final, has been unstoppable and unyielding throughout the regular season and playoffs. Loyola, in the final for the first time since 1996, has shown grit in several of its victories.
