THOUSAND OAKS — A 69-year-old Westlake Village man died when the car he was driving was sideswiped on Kanan Road on Friday night, authorities said.
Jacques Bloome was pronounced dead at Los Robles Regional Medical Center at 10:30 p.m. of chest and abdominal injuries, authorities said.
The accident occurred at Kanan Road and Golf Course Drive about 9:45 p.m.
Westlake Village resident Lauren Ann Walsh, 18, was driving a 1990 Nissan Stanza eastbound on Kanan approaching Golf Course Drive when Bloome’s 1998 Honda Accord pulled out onto Kanan, authorities said. Walsh’s vehicle crashed into the driver’s side of Bloome’s Honda.
Walsh, along with Bloome’s passenger Renee Nadel, 66, of Westlake Village, were taken to Los Robles, treated for minor cuts and abrasions and released, said hospital spokeswoman Kris Carraway-Bowman.
It was unknown if speed or alcohol were factors in the crash, sheriff’s investigators said.
