Cisneros, Smiley Share Volleyball Honor
Sylmar High’s unparalleled volleyball season continues.
Stephanie Cisneros and Barbara Smiley, who led the Spartans to their first upper-division City championship, were selected co-City players of the year.
Cisneros, a senior opposite hitter, and Smiley, a senior setter, led Sylmar to a 17-1 record and a victory over Chatsworth in the championship match.
Nancy Ariza and Krystal Mejia were All-City selections from Sylmar.
Chatsworth (15-2) also fared well in the voting, with middle blocker Linda Wang, setter Carly Allison and outside hitter Leila Pate earning All-City honors.
Jennifer Alfaro of Poly and Margot Wallace of Van Nuys were also All-City selections.
