Cooper Sees Profits Rise 28% in 4th Quarter

The Cooper Companies Inc., a Lake Forest manufacturer of specialty health care products, posted a 21% gain in profits for the fourth quarter on a similar gain in revenue.
Net income rose to $9.1 million, or 63 cents a share, from $7.5 million, or 53 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue for the quarter ended Oct. 31 rose 22% to $55.2 million.
For the year, net income increased 16% to $29 million, or $2 a share, from $25.1 million, or $1.75 a share, for the prior year. Sales rose 19% to $197.3 million.
