Members of the Republican Party of Orange County elected former Anaheim City Councilman Bob Zemel to serve as the second vice chairman of the group’s executive central committee.
“I look forward to being more directly involved in the decisions that will guide the Republican Party of Orange County,” Zemel said.
Zemel, who was nominated Monday, will continue to serve as chairman of the Silver Circle, the political group’s fund-raising organization, and as a delegate of the state’s Republican Party.
While serving on the Anaheim City Council from 1994 to ‘98, Zemel was a director for the county’s water district and Sanitation District and the Eastern Transportation Corridor project. In 1995, former state Gov. Pete Wilson appointed him to the California Debt Limitation Allocation Committee.
