Nothing to Sneeze At

For the second time this year, I have had the shock of boarding a plane only to find someone is traveling with a cat. I suffer from asthma, and exposure to cats is one of the triggers. Being in the same room with a cat, not to mention riding on a plane with recirculated air, is an extreme health hazard to me. Is anyone else as surprised as I that this practice goes on?
There is no warning that a cat is going to be on board. On a flight to Phoenix in May, I told the flight attendant of my problem, and she remarked, “I can’t discriminate against cats.”
