A bomb exploded in a car parked in Huntington Beach Sunday morning, police officials said.
No one was injured, but the car, a 1965 red Ford Mustang, was destroyed and another vehicle parked nearby was damaged.
Police and fire officials said they responded to the 700 block of Lake Street at 5:42 a.m. Sunday. They found the damaged and smoking car and determined that a bomb had detonated.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department bomb squad also responded to the scene.
Police are investigating whether the bomb was targeted at the 24-year-old Huntington Beach owner of the car.
