Alzheimer’s Assn. to Receive Grant
Kaiser Permanente will award the Alzheimer’s Assn. of Orange County with a $10,000 grant today in support of its Family Connections Caregiver Support Program.
Caregivers who provide round-the-clock care for a loved one are known to suffer feelings of isolation, along with emotional, physical and financial hardships.
The support program provides emotional help for caregivers, respite care, care consultation and referrals to valuable services in the community.
The Alzheimer’s Assn. is a charitable, nonprofit health organization dedicated to increasing public awareness, researching for a cure and providing support for patients and families coping with the disease. It offers support groups, multicultural and religious outreach, care consultation and visiting volunteers.
Alzheimer’s disease affects about 4 million people nationwide and 50,000 people in Orange County. Information: (714) 283-1111.
