* Everyone should read, nay devour, George Skelton’s Dec. 21 Capital Journal column. The only excuse for this continuing extortion by private power companies is the lack of bold political leadership by California’s leaders, beginning with Gov. Gray Davis.
Skelton’s reference to FDR is most appropriate. Anyone who has traveled in Tennessee and talked to residents knows how important the TVA was and is. Are we not smart enough to do something similar here in this high-tech state?
