Banks to Show Work of Young Artists

Young artists will display their work at several Ventura County banks during an exhibit from Jan. 15 to Feb. 28.
The exhibit will feature artwork created by students in the Focus on the Masters youth program. Fourteen Washington Mutual Bank branches throughout Ventura County will host the exhibit, which will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
A reception will be held at the Ventura branch, 2075 S. Victoria Ave., from 7 to 9 p.m. Jan. 16. Ventura Mayor Sandy Smith will welcome guests at 7:30 p.m., and Ventura County Supervisor Steve Bennett will speak on the value of arts education. State Sen. Jack O’Connell (D--San Luis Obispo) will hand out certificates to representatives from Focus on the Masters and sponsoring foundations.
Focus on the Masters is a nonprofit organization that teaches about great artists and highlights their work.
