No. 19 Florida Upsets No. 7 Rutgers
Naomi Mobley had 15 points and 10 rebounds as No. 19 Florida beat No. 7 Rutgers, 66-58, Friday night in the championship game of the State Farm Classic at Gainesville, Fla.
Brandy McCain added 16 points and six assists for Florida (11-1).
Kourtney Walton scored 19 points to lead Rutgers (8-2), which was off to its best start since beginning the 1990-91 season with 13 straight victories.
The Scarlet Knights’ loss is their second to a ranked team from the Southeastern Conference this month. On Dec. 3, then-No. 7 Georgia beat Rutgers, 82-53, at the Elite 4 Classic.
No. 16 Mississippi St. 87, Marist 48--Jennifer Fambrough scored 18 points to lead Mississippi State at Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
Mississippi State (9-2) opened the game with a 6-0 run and never relinquished its lead over Marist (2-9).
