Norwegian Presses Ahead in Hawaii
Norwegian Cruise Line this month reaffirmed it will enter the Hawaiian cruise market next year with a ship home-ported in Honolulu. But unlike many cruise ships, it won’t offer gambling. Congress recently passed legislation that bars cruise ships with casinos from starting and ending itineraries in Hawaii.
Norwegian will offer weeklong itineraries year-round aboard the 1,974-passenger Norwegian Leo that visit Oahu, Hawaii, Maui and Kauai, plus Fanning Island in Micronesia. Brochure fares for inaugural and holiday cruises in December 2001 begin at $1,649. Tel. (800) 327-7030.
