Jill Barad
Jill Barad resigned Thursday as chairwoman and chief executive of Mattel Inc. She started at Mattel in 1981 as a product manager, held various positions and was named chairwoman and CEO in 1997.

* Career highlights: Mattel’s Barbie doll sales soared under her leadership as marketing director for the brand. Prior to joining Mattel, Barad was an account executive for the Max Factor account at Wells, Rich, Greene/West advertising agency and a product marketing manager at Coty Cosmetics. She is on the board of Pixar Animation Studios and is chairwoman of the executive advisory board of the Children Affected by AIDS Foundation, which she helped establish.
