Water War
* Re “New Battlefronts in the L.A. vs. San Diego Water War,” Opinion, Jan. 30: For 70 years the MWD has supplied Southern California with a reliable source of water. Disrupting reliability with market-oriented policies distracts the MWD from the real problem at hand. How is California going to provide enough water for 35 million people, a $26-billion agricultural industry and the environment? The solution lies in the allocation of California’s available water, not the fairness of a municipality’s initial investment versus the amount of water it receives from the MWD.
