More Storms Expected Through Holiday Weekend
A series of storms is still moving through Southern California, but exactly when each storm will arrive, and how much rain it will drop, is still largely a matter of conjecture.
“It’s all a timing thing,” said Stacey Johnstone, a meteorologist with WeatherData Inc. “Things are still kind of up in the air.”
Johnstone said the next storm, due sometime today, probably will largely bypass Los Angeles to the south. There could be a few light showers at higher elevations this afternoon, and maybe a few more on Sunday, but she said they shouldn’t amount to much.
Another storm should roll in Sunday night, she said, and bring substantial rain--about a quarter of an inch in the valleys, about half an inch in the foothills--by the Presidents Day holiday on Monday.
“There should be a break on Tuesday, then more light rain on Wednesday,” Johnstone said. “There’s a chance of still more on Thursday and Friday, but it’s kind of early to tell.”
